Privacy Policy
Tournesol app · Last updated: 13 September 2026
The Tournesol app creates no account and uses no analytics or advertising tools. Control happens between your phone and your Tournesol device, on your local Wi-Fi network or over a USB cable. Only two exchanges reach lumographe.com: the firmware update check and, only if you turn them on, technical diagnostic reports kept for 30 days.
1. Publisher
The Tournesol app is published by NOLO SAS (48 rue du Montparnasse, 75014 Paris, France, SIREN 929 156 404), under the Lumographe brand (formerly Luminator). For any question about this policy or your data, write to tournesol@lumographe.com.
2. How it works
Tournesol drives a two-axis mirror mount. The app connects directly to the device, over HTTP on your local Wi-Fi network or through a USB cable. No intermediate server is involved in control: if your phone and the device are not linked (same network or cable), control does not work. The app does contact lumographe.com to learn which firmware versions are published and, at your request, downloads an update from there; as with any website visit, the server sees the request’s IP address in its technical logs.
3. Permissions
| Permission | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Location (iOS only) | A one-shot reading, only when you tap “Share this phone’s position”, so the device can compute the sun’s position. | Sent to your Tournesol device, to nobody else. |
| Camera | Read the QR code that carries your device’s network address. | Nothing is stored or transmitted: only the address that was read is used. |
| Local network / Wi-Fi | Open the link to the device and read its state. | Your local network only. |
On Android, the app requests no location permission at all: the position used for solar tracking comes from the GPS built into the Tournesol device itself.
4. No tracking
- No account, no sign-up, no user identifier.
- No analytics, behavioural tracking or advertising tools, and no advertising identifier.
- No data sent to our servers, apart from the update check and the optional diagnostic reports described below.
- No sale, rental or sharing of data with third parties.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making about you.
5. Diagnostics
The app can send diagnostic reports to lumographe.com, only if you turn on the “Send reports automatically” switch (off by default) or tap “Send now”. A report contains: a random installation identifier, unrelated to your identity; the platform and app version; technical events — device state (positions, voltages, temperatures, currents, errors, torque, DMX mode, firmware version), commands and link errors. It contains no password, key or GPS coordinates; text is redacted twice, in the app before sending and again on the server (anything that looks like a password, a token, a network name, a URL, IP or e-mail address, or a coordinate). Reports are stored outside the public area of the site and kept for 30 days: older batches are deleted at the next reception; the app also deletes its own copies older than 30 days. You can turn sending off at any time in the settings.
6. Local storage
The app keeps the address of the last device used and your display preferences locally, so it does not have to ask again on every launch. This information never leaves the phone and is removed with the app.
7. The website
If you use the website’s contact form, your email address and message are forwarded to us by email so we can reply, and are used for nothing else. The website uses no analytics cookies and no advertising trackers.
8. Retention
Diagnostic reports, if you enabled them, are kept for 30 days at most on our server, then deleted. The server’s technical logs (IP addresses of update requests) follow our hosting provider’s standard retention. Messages received through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted.
9. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. In practice they apply to the diagnostic reports you may have enabled (they are linked only to a random installation identifier, not to your identity) and to any exchanges you have had with us. To exercise them, write to tournesol@lumographe.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
10. Children
Tournesol is a professional tool intended for film sets and is not designed to be used by children.
11. Changes
Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with an updated revision date.
